Rick’s Biographical Statement

 

Rick Olshak serves as the Director, Title IX Compliance for The Texas A&M University System, based in College Station, Texas. Prior to entering Title IX compliance work, Rick was a career student affairs professional, working in student conduct administration at Georgetown University, the State University of New York College at Cortland, and at Illinois State University, where Rick was promoted to the role of Associate Dean of Students. Rick holds a master of science degree in college student personnel from Western Illinois University and a bachelor of arts degree in public communication from The College of Saint Rose (NY).

Rick is the author of Mastering Mediation: Training mediators in a college and university setting (LRP Publications) and is a nationally respected trainer in conflict resolution,  mediation, student conduct training, and Title IX administration. Rick joined the National Center for Higher Education Risk Management (NCHERM) as an affiliated consultant in the conflict resolution practice area, and is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA), as well as a member of the editorial board for Campus IX (an ATIXA publication). Rick is a past president of the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA).
