PROFESSIONAL POSITIONS

Rick has held the following professional positions during his career:

Senior Consultant, TNG Consulting, LLC, King of Prussia PA

October 2024 to present 

Serve as a senior consultant for a premier consulting firm providing risk management solutions for institutions of higher education, K-12 schools, and workplaces. From October 2024 to present, Rick has been serving as the Interim Title IX Coordinator for Loyola Marymount University while also providing instruction at various events for the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA).

Director, Title IX and Student Conduct Compliance, The Texas A&M University System, College Station

February 2016 to June 2024

Provided civil rights compliance oversight for complaints involving discrimination and harassment on the basis of sex; secondary civil rights officer for Equal Opportunity, ADA, and Section 504 for a public university system (founded in 1948) of eleven universities, eight state agencies, the RELLIS campus, and the System Offices including over 160,000 students and over 25,000 employees; also served as the Title IX Coordinator for the System Offices and held adjunct teaching position Texas A&M University Law School (Fort Worth TX).

Associate Dean of Students, Illinois State University, Normal IL

June 2004 to January 2016

Served as one of five members of the Dean of Students (DoS) leadership team at a public national research university of over 20,000 students, founded in 1857 as the first public institution of higher education in Illinois; initially served as one of four people responsible for the development and implementation of a Dean of Students Office at Illinois State University; included development of organizational vision and mission, creation of staffing plan, development of physical unit environments, development of operational budget, implementation of transitional website, and conducting hiring processes and opening of Dean of Students Office in July 2005 (planning included three separate task forces over a two year period while continuing to serve as a unit director).

January 1996 to June 2005

Served as student conduct and conflict resolution officer at a national public research institution of over 20,000 students, founded in 1857 as the first public institution of higher education in Illinois.

Assistant Director of Residential Services for Judicial Programs, SUNY-Cortland, Cortland NY

January 1993 to December 1995

Served as conduct (non-academic) and conflict resolution officer at a public college of approximately 7,000 students, founded in 1868.

Coordinator, Student Judicial Services, Georgetown University, Washington DC

June 1990 to December 1992

Served as conduct board advisor and liaison to students in student conduct process at a Jesuit university of over fifteen thousand students; Georgetown is the nation’s oldest Catholic university, founded in 1789.

Taught non-credit classes to students sanctioned as a result of the campus disciplinary process and/or those found in violation of local ordinances on alcohol; "On Campus Talking About Alcohol" (OCTAA) program certified by Prevention Research Institute.
